Camp Eagle comprises the eastern half of the Covered Wagon Scout Reservation, and is located approximately three miles northeast of Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska. It consists of 312 acres of woods, meadows and river bottom land.
The camp has a variety of buildings, with two of them being some of the most unique architecture on all of our camps – Pentzien Lodge and the Wikiup. Pentzien Lodge is an air-conditioned "A-frame" dining hall which can seat 200. The Chief's Wickiup is an administrative center with a meeting area, rest rooms and sleeping quarters for two. Millard Lodge is a general purpose building with meeting rooms, restrooms, showers, bunks for 50 and a kitchen.
Camp Eagle also has four air-conditioned cabins, each with a kitchenette (remodeled in fall, 2015), bathroom/shower, and bunks for 16 people. Three of the cabins are wheelchair accessible. The camp also has a heated swimming pool, a 5-acre lake for boating and fishing, a campfire stage, picnic shelter and BB and archery ranges. Campers can also stay in any of eight primitive campsites.
Originally opened by Mid-America Council in 1963, Camp Eagle provides year-round camping opportunities to Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Ventures, and outside groups. During the summer, Camp Eagle is home to Easter Seals of Nebraska for their camping program.
