The Great Expectation Centennial Quality Unit Award
At the Mid-America Council, our mission is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. By Partnering with Parents and other adult volunteers, we can accomplish our mission and guide youth in their journey to adulthood.

This is why the Mid-America Council has created the Great Expectation Centennial Quality Unit Award (G.E.C.Q.U.A.). The award uses criteria from National B.S.A.'s Centennial Quality Unit Award while incorporating others that we here at the Council know to be vital to the health and success of a Scout Unit.

Achievement of anything starts with a vision. The Great Expectation Centennial Quality Unit Award is a great place to start. Use the criteria for this award as your vision.

During the spring of 2010, work through the Ideal Year of Scouting Planning Guide to set your goals and make your plans. If you have questions along the way, consult your commissioners. To find contact information for your commissioner, click here.

By July of 2010, you should have a clear picture of the program you will offer from August 2010 through the summer of 2011.
