2016 Citizen of the Year Luncheon

The Boy Scouts of America, Mid-America Council are pleased to announce they will host their annual Citizen of the Year Luncheon at the Scott Conference Center on Monday, April 11, 2016. The Mid-America Council will honor community leaders and corporations for their tremendous support of Scouting and their generosity to our entire community. The chairmen for the event are Jim Landen, CEO, Security National Bank and C. L. Landen, President, Security National Bank.

The Boy Scouts of America will honor W. David Scott, President/CEO of Tetrad Corporation, as the 2016 Citizen of the Year for his outstanding leadership with Scouting for more than 20 years. Tetrad Corporation is a privately-held asset management firm located in Omaha, NE.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) will be awarded the 2016 Corporate Sponsor of the Year for their leadership and support of Scouting and hundreds of other organizations. BCBSNE has been a strong advocate of the Scoutreach program, an afterschool program focused on giving every child an opportunity to join Scouting no matter their socioeconomic or ethnic background. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska has been a name trusted in health insurance for over 75 years. Many BCBSNE leaders have provided leadership to the Mid-America Council Board of Directors, including current Chief Executive Officer, Steve Martin.

2016 CITIZEN OF THE YEAR LUNCHEON

The Mid-America Council’s Annual Citizen of the Year Luncheon has taken place for over forty years. It has a time honored tradition of recognizing those community leaders that have been outstanding in their leadership and support of youth organizations in our community. Our event is a one-hour luncheon held at the Scott Conference Center. The event is professionally arranged by a volunteer team from Gallup and averages over 300 guests each year.

This year’s event will be held on: April 11, 2016, 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. at the Scott Conference Center, 6450 Pine St. Omaha, NE 68106

EAGLE SCOUT SPONSOR - $ 20,000 ($750 benefited amount) includes seating for 30 guests (three tables), company name/logo on cover of invitation (deadline Feb.1) & program and all print materials, full-page ad in program, company recognition in the council’s newsletter, on our website and in the Midlands Business Journal ad.

LIFE SCOUT SPONSOR - $ 10,000 ($500 benefited amount) includes seating for 20 guests (two tables), company name/logo on inside cover of invitation (deadline Feb.1) & program and all print materials, full-page ad in program, company recognition in the council’s newsletter, on our website and in the Midlands Business Journal ad.

STAR SCOUT SPONSOR - $ 5,000 ($250 benefited amount) includes seating for 10 guests (one table), company name recognition in program, half-page ad in program, company recognition in the council’s newsletter, and on our website.
