Aaron Eilerts of Eagle Grove, was a young Boy Scout who sewed and gave away many pillowcases to hospital patients and made napkin holders for the Senior Center. He was also known for helping friends and neighbors. He was one of four boys who were killed when a tornado devastated the Little Sioux Boy Scout Ranch in June 2008. When students at Robert Blue Middle School Learned of the tragedy, the staff started a blog page in memory of Aaron. Here students and staff were able to express their feelings. Father John was a Scout in Council Grove, Kansas, during World War II. The troop made an all-out effort to collect material such as iron, tin foil and paper to support the war effort. Good Scout Masters were often drafted. His achievement was a Second-Class Scout. |

For 100 years, Scouting has been offering training programs that prepare leaders to provide a great program. As our society becomes more fast-paced, the need for trained leaders is more important than ever. Training can make the job of a volunteer much easier and ensures that the program continues to be delivered in the way it was designed to engage youth and retain them in Scouting.

Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venture leaders are welcome to attend Wood Badge training, the most advanced adult leadership training that the Boy Scouts
of America has to offer. Training is held at Camp Cedars and is conducted in two parts. Part 1: September 10 – 12, 2010;
Part 2: October 1 – 3, 2010. Attendance at both weekend sessions and the mid-course meeting is required. |
