Kara L.
Asmus is a Field Director with the Boy Scouts of America, Mid-America Council. In this role, Kara serves the Many Rivers district as well as providing supervision to the District Executives in Many Rivers and Goldenrod districts.
Kara attained her Bachelors Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1990 majoring in Human Development and the Family with a specialization in Family Rehabilitation Services.
Kara has been with the Council professionally since 2007. Prior to that, she served as a volunteer on the Petah La Shauro District Committee as Public Relations Chair and Family Friends of Scouting Chair and held several other leadership roles within her Scout unit. Kara was a Brownie and Junior in Girl Scouts as a youth. Kara has 25 years sales and advertising experience. She previously worked as coordinator for the Columbus Downtown Business Association and held management roles in advertising sales and motel management. Her sons, Alex and Austin, belong to Troop 276 in Columbus. They, along with Kara, attended the National Jamboree in Virginia in 2010 to celebrate Boy Scouting's 100th Anniversary in America. Her husband, Mark, is registered on the Troop Committee and is Senior Vice President at First Nebraska Bank in Columbus.
